The overall objectives of the project
The GreenADeN project
will contribute to the prosperous future of Nordic region via international cooperation on the Nordic Council of Ministers’ environment and climate Vision 2030, including
to identify and set a long-term vision and targets in mitigation of climate change in the region while adopting the best European practices in the climate change mitigation in compliance with the Nordic Vision 2030 and the Paris Agreement and European Green Deal agenda.
to bring together actors and stakeholders from across the Nordic and Baltic Region in order to develop competences relevant for the net-zero circular economy.
WP 6: Project-based learning network development.
The work period:
From 1st Feb – 15th Oct 2024. It is still feasible. No changes needed.
The objectives:
to bring together learning networks incl. primarily NGOs across the Nordic and Baltic region
that share an interest in qualifying a long-term vision for at sustainable region,
by comparing and adapting the strategies and targets from the Paris Agreement and European Green Deal agenda to the Nordic Council of Ministers’ 2030 green visions.
The networks may include:
the Nordic Council of Ministers’ new civil society network, Nordic CIV that aims to strengthen the voice of civil society in Nordic cooperation and contributes to the transition to an economically, ecologically and socially sustainable Nordic region. The network consists of 40 representatives from civil society organizations in the Nordic countries and self-governing areas.
The partnership circle of the Nordplus ADDED project where we also work with promoting green values in the practices of the civil society associations, and this partnership circle also include the huge international network of the Settlement movement.
The partnership circle of the Micropolis network where we work with promoting inclusive and active local communities.
The partnership circle of the COMMON Network where we work with promoting more contact and cooperation between NGOs in the Danish Commonwealth including Greenland, Faroe Islands and Denmark.
The European FIRST Network, where NGOs from the EU member states cooperate to promote international cooperation and contacts, including Islandic HAC and Danish Interfolk
The Danish NGO-Network for International Project Cooperation where Danish NGOs help each other to work more internationally.
The Baltic Sea NGO-network which has been a strong player in the Baltic Sea Region, but now have some activity problems, and maybe is interested in taking part in other networks to gain new opportunities.

The followers and networks developed during the two Hackathons (WP 2 and WP 5) and the Summer School (WP 4)
Other green actors from the public and private sectors.
Key activities:
Besides being mentioned in a common public contact list, the network members must
be offered to participate in the events in WP 4, WP 5, and WP 8 (maybe also WP 2), and
receive course materials and information from the events, and
get news mails as part of the dissemination activities (in WP 7).
WP 8: Workshop on Adaptation of European Climate Change policies to Nordic region
Changes from the application:
Changed from a workshop for “students” to learn about the topic to a Symposium for “experts” to exchange knowledge and opinions and elaborate sustainable strategies for the region.
The objectives:
To organise a Symposium to discuss and clarify the adaptation of European Climate Change (CC) Policies with the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Vision 2030 for the Nordic Region to become the most sustainable and integrated region in the world.
To edit and publish a Symposium Compendium, English PDF-edition.
In general, the same objectives as in the application, but in another frame, where the event form are changed from a workshop to a symposium and there is added an output in the form of a Symposium Compendium.
The period and work programme
In application estimated to be 1st August – 30th September 2024, but I may need more time for the planning, so it can be extended to May – September 2024.
May: Plan the programme and invite speakers, panellists and moderators
June: Clarify agreements including payments with speakers, panellists and moderators. Invite other participants.
Aug: Final programme and list of participants are distributed
Sept: Mid September, the Symposium are completed
Oct: Primo October, the Symposium Compendium, English PDF-ed. is published and disseminated.
Title of Symposium
Adaptation of the European Green deal Agenda to the Nordic Council of Ministers’ sustainable Vision 2030.
Time, type, and language
Online 2-day symposium, Tuesday – Wednesday, 17 – 18 September 2024.
Total 6 hours including plenary presentations, group discussions and panel discussion.
The 2-day event only has 3 hours each day from 10:30 – 12:00, and 12:30 – 14:00 CET.
The language used is English.
Participants and speakers
We invite approx. 20 – 25 participants from the Nordic-Baltic states, including approx. 6 speakers, 5 panelists plus 4 group moderators and reporters.
The participants can be a mix of representative NGOs, opinion formers, politicians and scientists.
Symposium fee and speaker fee
It is free to participate, because the online Symposium is part of the Prosperous Future project: “Green Skills Adaptation and Development for Nordic Region”.
The speakers may get a fee for providing presentations and related articles for the subsequent Symposium Compendium. The moderators may get a fee for the group moderations and group reports as well as moderation and reports of the panel debates, which all can be elaborated to articles to the Symposium Compendium.
Topics, methods, and materials:
Key topics:
To present in general the strategies and targets from the Paris Agreement and European Green Deal agenda and especially how civil society associations can contribute to realize the strategies.
To present in general the key issues in the Nordic Council of Ministers’ 2030 green visions and especially how civil society associations can contribute to realize the visions.
To present comparative presentations of the NGOs role in the EU green strategies and the NCM green strategies.
To adapt in general the EU strategies with the NCM strategies to outline elaborated visions and targets for the Nordic-Baltic region and especially what role the NGOs can have in the strategies.
Learning methods:
As an online symposium, we plan short sessions with both short presentations and group debates. There shall be an alternation between short plenary presentations, questions & answers, and short summarizing group debates in 4 smaller 5-6 person groups, where the groups have moderator and referent, probably members from the project team.
The short plenary presentations can be shown as PowerPoints as well as short articles, just as the thematic discussions in the groups and their presentation in plenary can be processed by the organizers into short articles, both of which can be included in the publication of the follow-up Symposium Compendium.
It can be a condition for the remuneration of the speakers that they must both make a presentation at the Symposium and deliver a related article, latest 2 weeks after the symposium.

The electronic Book can also be distributed to the public library systems of the participating countries, at least in Denmark. We may find extra funding or other financial means to print the Compendium in a minor edition (50 - 100 items per report) for distribution to main stakeholders and the library systems.
